I hope you are having a great start this week! And that you are really starting to become an emotional mastery pro 😉
I can feel you! This month’s talking about emotions came with a double edge — on the one hand, it shed light upon the topic, while on the other hand it made you feel or think that there’s a huge gap between theory and practice.
Well, emotional mastery involves being in touch with your emotions, breathing with them, and allowing them to move inside and outside of you, no matter how strange or new it might feel at the beginning.
Once you get to this point, life suddenly turns richer, more nuanced and definitely more exciting.
Beginnings can be clumsy.
Being in touch with our emotions can look like we helplessly observe how an inner storm of sensations and energy takes us by surprise and breaks us to pieces, while urging us to scream and shout at the whole world or, at least, to the ones we love the most.
Sometimes, breathing with our emotions can look like we push the dear ones away, in a desperate need to make room for more fresh air.
Also, when our emotions move us, they can totally push us towards the path of self destruction.
And that’s exactly where the practice of emotional detachment, that we’ve been discussing here over the past weeks, comes up.
When the journey to claiming back your emotions leads to unwanted interactions, have compassion for yourself.
When we have been disconnected from the true gift of our emotions for such a long time, it’s absolutely natural for mixed feelings to occur.
Forgive yourself and, please, be sure, that if you stay with us and if you start doing the easy practices we share on weekly basis, all this will shift in the smoothest possible way, and you will undoubtedly become an emotional mastery pro.
Eventually, you’ll gain awareness, confidence and self-control in dealing with your most troubling emotions.
Until you get there, try to make some extra room for words such as — “I am sorry. Please forgive me”, every single time you end up hurting someone (including yourself!) through your emotional outbursts.
To your emotional wellbeing!
